Lewis Hamilton, the patron saint of stylish athletes, has arrived at the Met Gala. Decked out in Burberry, the Formula 1 driver continued his winning streak of outfits.
This year, Hamilton went for all black in a wool coat accentuated by floral embroidery. The coat was worn over a double-br**sted suit and black boots from the British brand. On the inside, a quote from Alex Wharton's 'The Gardener' poem was embroidered as a little detail for Hamilton.
Burberry chief creative officer, Daniel Lee, said of designing the look, "His Met Gala look is inspired by the story of John Ystumllyn, one of Britain’s first Black gardeners, and by the language of flowers in Black history."
The coat, Lee added, was embroidered with periwinkle that symbolise endurance, yucca for eternity and protecting restless spirits, daffodils representing hardiness and cedar branches that signal everlasting life.
